Eight suspected insurgents detained following ambush of rangers in Pattani

Eight suspected insurgents have been detained for questioning over their alleged involvement in an ambush that killed two insurgents and injured four others, the southern Army chief said.
A 76-year-old man was trapped by a cable while riding his motorcycle on a Chumphon road and was stabbed to death and his gold necklace and amulet worth Bt300,000 were robbed on Wednesday morning.
Twenty-eight locations in Chiang Rai’s Wiang Kaen district were searched by some 500 soldiers, police and administrative officials on Thursday morning as part of the investigation into the fatal April 24 ambush on Hmong kamnan Thaweesak Yodmaneebanphot and his family.
