The latest Foton models for the Thai light-duty truck and passenger van segments are the Aumark C and View CS2, respectively.
“Foton has been the top global seller of light-duty trucks for four years in a row and we have sold more than 4.2 million units of the Aumark models since 2003,” Geng Chao, president of Foton Automobile (Thailand), said.
Geng said the latest Aumark generation was introduced during its world premiere in China earlier this year and enjoys a broad user base in 173 countries.
In Thailand, there are two versions available – the Aumark C 4W with (130ps/3,200rpm, 310NM/1,6002,700rpm) and Aumark C 6W (148ps/3,200rpm, 360Nm/1,8002,700rpm). They are both powered by a Cummins ISF 2.8L direct-injection turbo diesel engine that was developed in the US and Germany. A 5-speed gearbox is supplied by ZF of Germany.
Meanwhile, the View CS2 also features the 130hp Cummins 2.8L engine with 280Nm of torque. The View CS2 comes fully loaded with special features such as a user-friendly console with fascia brightness control and a safety system that provide dual front airbags, seatbelts for all 16 seats (10 seats with 3-point), a braking system with ABS and EBD, a collapsible steering column, and a front and side safety structure.
Also available is a rear-view camera with guidance that works with four parking sensors, offering the “highest convenience when backing up into tight spaces”.
