Oracle launches data centre in Singapore for cloud customers

Oracle Monday announced the opening of its Singapore data centre to meet growing demand from customers for cloud-based services, as well as offering Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to customers in the region.

The Oracle Cloud data centre will give customers and partners subscription-based, self-service access to the following: Oracle Fusion Applications; open-standards-based business applications that set a new standard for the way organisations innovate, work, and adopt technology including: Enterprise Resource Planning, Human Capital Management, Talent Management, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service and Support All offerings will be managed and supported by Oracle staff. The data centre will be housed at Equinix.

The new facilities use Oracle Engineered Systems including Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, the company's flagship engineered system for running business applications and the Oracle Exadata Database In-Memory Machine, which is ideal for high-end OLTP, large data warehouses, and database clouds.  As key components of Oracle's Cloud platform, these systems provide customers and partners with a high-performance, reliable, elastic, and secure infrastructure for their critical business applications.
