The match is part of the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS) and will be held at Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, the home of Muay Thai.
The 3-round kickboxing match on Saturday will mark the second time that Buakaw goes against Congo-born Spanish fighter Nayanesh, who savagely knocked the Thai kickboxer out in the first round of the 65th Kunlun Fight held in China in 2018.
Buakaw, 41, said the RWS: Legend of Rajadamnern series could be his last kickboxing fight in Thailand before he embarks on new challenges in other kinds of martial arts.
“I will always remember how great it is to fight in front of Thai fans, who make me feel so welcome,” said Buakaw. “I will do my best in this fight and will not let you down.”
Thainchai Pisitwuttinan, CEO and co-founder of Global Sport Ventures, the organiser of the event, said that there will be a total of eight Muay Thai fights on Saturday, one of which will see Rajadamnern’s welterweight champion Erdem WMC Lamai Muay Thai defend his title against Hercules Wor Chakrawut.
He added that the Buakaw vs Nayanesh fight is the last in Saturday’s programme and will wrao up the series for this year. The fight is not a demonstration match and will have a final result, he insisted.
The December 2 bout of RWS: Legend of Rajadamnern will be broadcast live on Workpoint TV channel 23, YouTube (WorkpointOfficial) and Facebook (Workpoint Entertainment).
The matches will also be aired around the globe in over 200 countries by DZAN.
