Siam Piwat Group, Thailand’s leading real estate and retail developer, the owner and operator of global destinations including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, aims to use 100% renewable energy at all properties under its management by 2030 in an attempt to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The move is part of its efforts to solidify its leadership in sustainable world-class destination development and become Thailand’s first retail property developer to collaborate with the world’s premier brands and organizations on sustainability in pursuit of the United Nations’ sustainability goals. It plans to sign a MOU with world-class brands on sustainability by early 2024.

The group aims to pioneer an urban model for environmental revitalization, emphasizing renewable energy adoption and comprehensive waste management.

Assoc. Prof. Singh Intrachooto, Ph.D., a seasoned sustainability consultant, affirms Siam Piwat's consistent commitment to robust environmental practices, often exceeding global standards. Collaborative initiatives aim to transform shopping centers into sustainability education hubs and have produced "Kheo Siam," a comprehensive book on environmental issues and Siam Piwat’s environmental strategies. Assoc. Prof. Singh played a significant role in propelling eco-community development and ECOTOPIA at Siam Discovery, reflecting Siam Piwat's mission to empower eco-friendly communities and products.
Siam Piwat's initiatives also focus on energy efficiency, highlighted by LED lighting adoption and AI-driven environmental control systems. The transition to clean energy is demonstrated through impactful installations like solar panels atop ICONSIAM, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Partnerships with clean energy entities drive their commitment to achieving 30% renewable energy consumption by 2026 and striving for RE100% by 2030.
Their dedication to sustainable waste management is embodied in the Siam Piwat 360° Waste Journey to Zero Waste initiative, aiming to divert 50% of waste from landfills by 2030. In partnership with Synnex, they address the mounting issue of electronic waste, setting up designated e-waste collection points.
Siam Piwat's vision extends to transforming Pathumwan into a smart ecosystem, enhancing its competitive edge and maintaining its position as a premier creative economic district and a key contributor to Thailand's economy.
The company is collaborating with Assoc. Prof. Niramon Serisakul, Director of the Urban Design and Development Center, Center of Excellence in Urban Strategies (UddC-CEUS), the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, who has remarked on the initiative to transform Pathumwan into a smart ecosystem model:
