The PM was spotted at a local market on Friday morning, offering alms to monks and talking with other residents. He also purchased sticky rice with grilled pork and mango from his favourite vendors.
Srettha is scheduled to visit the Hua Hin Railway Station in the afternoon to see if arrangements for travellers are satisfactory.
Most Thais are taking advantage of the extended break and have either headed home to spend Songkran with their friends and family or are travelling.
Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol said she believes at least 50 billion baht in tourism revenue will be generated during Songkran festivities, which will last until April 21 this year.
