PM2.5 exceeded the safe threshold of 37.5 micrograms per cubic metre of air and was at Orange levels (“starting to affect health”) across most of the city, the Bangkok Air Quality Information Centre of Bangkok reported.
People were advised to consider reducing outdoor activities and use face masks and other protection in badly affected areas of the capital.
Those with chronic health conditions are advised to limit outdoor activities and use protective gear if necessary.
Anyone experiencing health symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, sore eyes, chest tightness, headaches, irregular heartbeat, nausea, or fatigue is advised to consult a doctor.
The fine-dust PM2.5 haze is accumulating due to stagnant air conditions in the capital.
Air circulation is forecast to improve over the next seven days (November 23-29), which is expected to reduce PM2.5 levels in the capital.
