Tak officials launch operations to rescue victim trapped in vertical cave
Officials are making all-out efforts to rescue a Thai man who fell into a vertical cave in Tha Song Yang district of Tak province on Sunday, five days after he went missing from his residence.
Relatives of the victim, Takwa Wanawet (47), informed the officials that he had fallen into a cave about five kilometres from their village.
As the cave is up to 10 metres deep and the victim was found exhausted, the officials gathered equipment and descended into the cave to rescue him.
However, officials faced difficulties reaching the victim as he is unable to cling to the rope they have dropped down for him due to his “mental disorder".
A psychologist has been called in to help communicate with the victim.
