Downpours to continue in South, mist and rain in North

With the high-pressure system covering the upper part of Thailand weakening over the next 24 hours and easterly winds prevailing over Thailand, the Gulf of Thailand, and the Andaman Sea, morning mist and occasional rain will affect the country’s upper region. Bangkok and its environs have a 20% chance of thunderstorms.

The South, meanwhile, will continue to experience heavy downpours, with flash floods and landslides, especially in areas near rivers and low-lying areas, a real possibility.

For the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, waves are expected to be around 1 metre high and could reach more than 2 metres in areas with thunderstorms. Small vessels are advised to navigate with caution.
