Chumphon beauty named this year’s Miss Grand Thailand
Thaweeporn “Aoom” Phingchamrat from the southern province of Chumphon bagged the Miss Grand Thailand 2023 crown on Saturday night, beating fellow beauties from other parts of the country.
The southern beauty had previously captured the best national costume honours at the Miss United Continents 2017 contest in Ecuador for her “durian dress”.
At Saturday night’s pageant, the best national costume award went to Bangkok’s Pimjira Charoenluck.
Flanking Thaweeporn in the winners' line-up were Tia Taweepakamphan from Phuket, Pimjira from Bangkok, Saenak Archaree Sirsuk from Loei and Ketuwalee Polbodee from Phrae as first, second, third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
The new Miss Grand Thailand was presented with a golden crown worth 1.2 million baht and received other prizes including a million baht in cash and keys to a condominium.
Thaweeporn will be representing Thailand at the Miss Grand International contest in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in October.
