It will feature three prominent zones - Digital Economy, Digital Society and Creativity, aiming to raise awareness of digital transformation and draw Thais closer to the technology and innovation.
Buddhipongse Punnakanta, minister of Digital Economy and Society ministry said the symposium will serve as a platform for Thais to adapt to the new technology, giving them the option of using it in an appropriate, effective and sustainable manner. It will also demonstrate Thailand’s readiness for digital transformation, which will boost business confidence and attract foreign investment to the country.
“MDES intends to build up digital skills among Thai people. We focus not only on promoting usage at the user level, but also on developing Thai-owned technologies and innovation, providing digital services to the Thai population and the global community. It is undeniable that we have a long way to go and Digital Thailand Big Bang will serve as a shortcut to the knowledge and experience collected on one platform as well as providing an opportunity for experience sharing and collaboration,” Buddhipongse said.
Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, president/CEO of depa, said the event this year will be held under the theme “Asean Connectivity” and is one of the largest on digital technology in Southeast Asia. It is also an opportunity to show off Thailand’s journey towards becoming the Asean digital hub. With more than 40,000 sqm of exhibition space, the event will have 300 booths dedicated to the promotion of applications and entrepreneurship in the digital industry.
The three zones at the event are Digital Economy which will showcase urban digital economy; Digital Society to stress the importance of digital skills: and the Creativity zone, designed to show off the power of innovative technologies. Gathering technologies from various startups and game developers, this zone presents how digital technologies can unlock human's unlimited capacity for creativity. It will also highlight the efficiency and importance of robotics in the digital era.
The event will bring together more than 100 speakers and technology experts in various fields, from Thailand and abroad.
The event is free to the general public. It will be held for four consecutive days from October 28-31 October 2019.
