IBM's Data Center Services will help implement best strategies for TCCT's future data centers, its most progressive mega data center

TCC Technology (TCCT) announced that they have appointed IBM to develop their future data center strategy and data center model. As part of the agreement, IBM will counsel TCCT on the optimum conditions to build their upcoming “Mega Data Centers”, for resiliency, energy efficiency and service quality with size and location suitable for customers and their industries. Founded on IBM’s global experience, research-based analytical tools and expertise, IBM will provide TCCT the insight to make an informed, cost and benefit-justified decision about their new data center investments.

With unpredictable disruptions to businesses in Thailand – due to natural disasters or man-made issues, an increasing number of businesses have recognized the importance of having back-up databases or a second data center back up site, to mitigate risks. Taking these into consideration, TCCT is looking to expand their capabilities and offerings through this future ‘Mega Data Centers’, so as to accommodate their growing number of local , regional clients, of different sizes, ranging from the financial and manufacturing sectors to the fast-growing IT Services and telecommunication sectors, whose businesses and customer data are essential.

Kosit Suksingha, Managing Director of T.C.C. Technology said, “We trust IBM to provide their expert recommendations around the research for this site survey and selection, while incorporating TCCT’s expectations in size, location, and capabilities. At the moment I have to admit that there has been a surging data center demand from various industry-typed enterprises from Thailand and also many countries in the region. This is because of the ongoing natural disasters and political unrests worldwide. It is best to have data center expert to manage important data for them. Moreover, companies can minimize cost of investment by relying on us instead of investing in their own data centers, back up sites, and engineers to manage the data.

As Thailand’s Leading Carrier Neutral Data Center Services Provider, we serve increasing demand and expand our potential by building “Mega Data Centers” with the plan to have community consisting of various types of enterprises with bodies of organizations both public and private sectors. All will be managed the data and centralized by TCCT’s data centers.  That is why we need global data center research and strategy expert for us. The research and strategies on our new “Mega Data Centers” is significant to us.  In order to continue to provide the best in class data centers with the best in ‘Size, Site, and Services’, IBM’s global expertise in data center services from “Design to Build” meets all the requirements that TCCT has in this endeavor”.

TCCT’s new “Mega Data Centers” will incorporate the TCCT’s ‘3S’ strategy,  with an aim to become one of Thailand’s most efficient data centers, equipped with resiliency features, high level data center services, and support for customers who wish to leverage these data center offerings. This strategy is based on:

·        Size – based on TCCT’s business demands, IBM will recommend and estimate the appropriate capacity for TCCT’s new “Mega Data Centers”, so as to be sufficient to meet customer demands and to support for the appropriate services to be offered.

·        Site – This initiative brings together IBM’s experience as a global player in the creation and management of data centers, in building more than 30 million square feet of raised-floor data centers for organizations worldwide, and TCCT’s familiarity in local sites and its reputation as one of the best regional players in Asia. IBM’s Data Center Services Team will conduct research, gather information on market trends and target customer demand, and will perform the site surveys.  This information will then be analyzed using decision models and IBM’s analytical tools to select the most appropriate location for this new “Mega Data Centers”, taking into account the site’s strategic attributes.

·        Services – With IBM’s counsel, TCCT will identify the value-added data center and   infrastructure services that its future customers can benefit from.  Size and Site must be right and work well in supporting the Services.
