Leaders of Laos and Vietnam along with representatives of Party and state organisations from both countries on Thursday paid their respects to former Party chief and President Khamtay Siphandone, whose body is lying in state at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane.

Lao and Thai rail operators have agreed to work together to enhance the development of rail connectivity amid the growing number of passengers travelling by train on the Krung Thep Aphiwat–Vientiane (Khamsavath) route.
