All three Japanese-directed films nominated for this year's Academy Awards, including journalist Shiori Ito's "Black Box Diaries," a documentary about sexual assault she suffered, missed out on the Oscars on Sunday.

Tickets to the Japanese Film Festival held in Bangkok from February 10-19 were sold out despite each of the 10 films being screened 3-4 times throughout the event. The festival now moves to Chiang Mai on February 25-26.
