Wife of missing activist gets six months jail for encroachment

THE WIFE of a missing land rights activist was sentenced by the Supreme Court on Thursday to six months in jail on charges of encroachment on the Phu Sam Phaknam National Reserve forest in Chaiyaphoom.
Forest encroachment case delayed until accused’s death confirmed

A SUPREME COURT verdict in a 2011 forest encroachment case has been delayed until there is confirmation that one of the two charged people involved in the case is dead.
BURNED BONES uncovered in the forest will be sent to the Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS) today to identify whether they are the remains of missing Chaiyaphum land rights activist Den Kamlae.
