Hospital vows to support bereaved family and look into the case after pharmacist leaves social media message complaining about distress at work

Praram 9 Hospital clarified the circumstances surrounding the suicide of a hospital pharmacist, saying on Thursday that it is ready to support the grieving family.

The announcement came after news broke of an unidentified pharmacist killing himself from fumes inside a car. The exact date and location of the incident were unclear as of press time.

The pharmacist reportedly posted a poignant message on social media on Wednesday, saying he felt compelled to end his life due to pressure from his boss. “I’m unfortunate to have a boss who never listens and often pressures his subordinates to resign,” the message read.

The post has since gone viral, prompting netizens to urge various organisations to pay closer attention to their employees’ mental health.

Praram 9 Hospital, meanwhile, has extended its condolences to the family, saying: “The hospital executives and relevant personnel have launched an investigation into the case.” It also emphasised the hospital’s commitment to addressing the issue and ensuring fairness for all involved.

The hospital admitted its response had been delayed while it carefully collected sensitive information and considered the feelings of the pharmacist’s relatives.

Nonetheless, it said, it was ready to take care of the pharmacist’s family and ensure the rest of the staff was mentally and physically well.

“The hospital calls on all departments to approach their duties with empathy and to foster a culture of care within the organisation,” the statement concluded.
