Kalasin, Korat farmers find safe sites for drying their paddy

Farmer Athit Poonlarp, 43, said this way there is no fear of the rice being squashed by cars or stolen, adding that the price of rice at present is almost Bt10 per kilo or Bt10,000 per tonne.

Meanwhile, farmer Nadda PraewJapo, 72, in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Chum Phuang district said district chief Pairat Wittayanumas is letting farmers dry their paddy in the district office’s complex. She added that the price of paddy rice currently stands at between Bt11 and Bt12 per kilo.

"The district office has also set up lights and deployed officials to take care of the rice, so we can rest at home without worry that someone will steal it,” she said
