A Buriram man was arrested for using a nine-year-old boy to deliver him drugs, while he insisted that the boy was willing to help him since he wanted to be rewarded with money and drugs.

A sting operation by police got the boy to reveal on Monday that he was hired by Weerasak Khongsuk to deliver drugs near Mun River.

He reportedly paid the boy up to Bt300 depending on the quantity of drugs and also gave him two pills as a bonus.

Weerasak was later arrested while fishing on the bank of the river with his friend. He has reportedly confessed that he received the drugs from Laotians to sell them to local adolescents.

Police are concerned that more children might be used in the drug operation. They charged him with drug possession and inciting youth to commit crimes.

He had previously been arrested on drug charges and was released four years ago.
