On September 18, the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) announced that the prosecutors had decided to indict Vorayuth on charges of using cocaine and reckless driving causing death.
Vorayuth, a scion of a billionaire family, hit the headlines again when CNN reported in August that the prosecutors had dropped the last charge against him over the 2012 killing of a motorcycle cop.
News of the prosecutors’ decision generated suspicion and questions began being asked.
Meanwhile, on his official Facebook page, Prayut said Thai police were calling on Interpol to help locate Vorayuth and bring him back to Thailand for prosecution.
“I ask every officer to handle this matter correctly and effectively,” Prayut’s post said, in which he also demanded an update within a week.
