Activist burns police summons as symbolic protest against oppression

According to a post on social media, the activist had received a summons from both Samranrat and Khon Kaen police stations. Both summonses had been issued on August 18, asking that he report in both police stations on August 28. 
The activist said the summonses were just a sign of oppression and intimidation, and said he was burning them to prove he was not afraid of the powers that be. 
Jatupat said he will go to Bangkok on Thursday and will report to Samranrat Police Station on Friday (August 28).
The gathering, closely monitored by local police, was organised by members of the Northeastern People’s Alliance for Democracy.
Some 500 members of the group gathered there to demand that the government rewrite the Constitution, dissolve Parliament to hold new elections and stop intimidating those who hold different opinions.
