Police are hunting two men who pulled off a daring daytime robbery on a bank in Chiang Rai province, on the edge of the so-called Golden Triangle.

Police in Chiang Saen district, which borders Myanmar and Laos, were notified that a pair of robbers had held up the local Krungthai Bank at 10.04am.
Dressed in black and wearing motorbike helmets, the offenders managed to grab Bt1.05 million in cash before fleeing the scene on a blue Honda Wave motorcycle.
The employee targeted by the thieves told police and the bank manager that she had taken the Bt1.05 million in cash and placed it in a bag for delivery to Chiang Saen’s agricultural cooperative.
As the money was set to be delivered, the thieves swooped, forcing the driver to hand over the cash.
Chiang Saen’s police chief has ordered his officers to launch a manhunt for the men.
