Challenges along the river
Offering a scenic historical route for professional and amateur runners, Amazing Field’s 36th River Kwai International Half Marathon returns to the Western province of Kanchanaburi on September 10.
Starting from River Kwai Village Hotel Kanchanaburi in Sai Yok, the event is open to 4,000 runners to compete in three categories: the 10 km Mini Marathon, the 21 km Half Marathon and the 36 kilometre Ultra Half Marathon.
The event is considered one of the scenic in Thailand with several amazing sights and temples alongside the Kwai River and attracts an increasing number of international runners every year.
The registration fees are Bt600 for the Mini Marathon and Half Marathon and Bt800 for the Ultra Half Marathon, including event shirt and buffet breakfast on race day. Medals and trophies will also be awarded to the first five finishers in each age group. A Carbo-Loading party will be organised on the Saturday night.
