In October, WADA slapped Thailand with a one-year ban for failing to update its anti-doping law in line with WADA’s global guidelines. As a result, the Kingdom was banned from hosting global sports events or using the Thai flag at international sports competitions.
Thailand amended the relevant law on December 31, 2021, and WADA has reportedly agreed to lift the ban next month.
The 2022 Winter Olympics will be held from February 4 to 20. Four Thai athletes are competing in the Games: Mark Chanloung and Karen Chanloung in the cross-country skiing, and Nicola Zanon and Mida Fah Jaiman in slalom.
