Have Thai authorities changed their mind about attracting ex-pats?
To require ex-pats to maintain Bt800,000 in a Thai bank or deposit Bt65,000 into a Thai bank every month is what it is – a Thai Immigration law or directive.
Think about it. Bt800,000 and Bt65,000 are substantial amounts of money. In addition, word is that Thai Immigration may require ex-pats to have Thai medical insurance or a guaranteed alternative, which could be very expensive for some to obtain or make adjustments for. This all begs the question, does Thailand and Thailand Immigration even want ex-pats to live or move here?
