Do they understand that friction is what keeps tires adhering to the road and that mud, water, loose stones and sand seriously affect that “grip”? Are they aware that increasing the height of the centre of gravity with 3-metre high 5-tonne loads has an awful effect on cornering and that extra load causes a big increase in braking distances?
I thought perhaps this lack of knowledge of basic science was maybe the cause of so much ignorance involved in high-speed cornering, inability to stop and the willingness to drive 5 metres behind another car at 120kph. Then again, it could just be stupidity.
