Not quite so condescending

Chavalit how can you possibly say Thailand is more “broadminded” than America when this is a country where reputable human rights activists can be prosecuted for accusing the military of torture, you can be arrested for posting critical comments about the government on Facebook (or for even voting “like”) or for peacefully protesting? You can even have people thrown in jail without bail by merely accusing them of lese majeste.
On the other hand, in America we have presidents investigated and people 
openly comparing them to Hitler.
When I used the word “fools”, I was referring to the Thai elitist hypocrites who smugly claimed after the 
coup that democracy would 
be restored in a matter of months. And I was obviously right! On the other hand, I’ve called people who voted for Donald Trump “white trash”, which is far worse than anything I’ve ever said about Thais.
But when I say nasty things about Americans or Thais, I’m not talking about everyone in those countries. I’m talking about certain self-serving individuals.
