Wining and dining in Hong Kong

Hong Kong has long been the most colourful dining destination in Asia and now travellers can check out the new list of new-wave cafes and bistros that are popular on the social networks.

Among them is Gough’s On Gough fine-dining restaurant, which is housed the retail space of furniture design brand Timothy Oulton, offering modern British dishes like roasted lamb rump and Scottish brown crab.
Along with copper and brass lighting fixtures, the Tom Dixon Cafe is pairing fluffy pastries with its artfully brewed coffees.
For those who prefer a traditional Chinese feast, Dragon Noodles Academy will delight with beautifully reinterpreted classics like sous-vide bone-in short ribs and ale-braised pork knuckle rice. Another happening venue is Happy Paradise, where the rice noodle rolls are made from scallops, and the cocktails are spiced with Chinese liquors.
Craft beers continue to be a trend and Young Master Ales is one of the best-known local brands, manufacturing its brews in Ap Lei Chau and even injecting local flavours into their beers. Other names to watch for include Lion Rock Brewery, Kowloon Bay Brewery, and Moonzen Brewery.
Next weekend, travellers can enjoy the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival, with some 400 booths setting up shop along the Central Harbourfront Event Space from Thursday (October 26) to October 29. Find out more details at www.DiscoverHongKong.com.
