A true taste of Thailand

Airports of Thailand (AOT) is tempting passengers to take a bite of Thai food with the “Amazing ThaiTaste @ Suvarnabhumi Airport”, a gustatory festival that highlights the kingdom’s cuisine culture through tastings, cooking workshops and fun activities.

Running at the airport through September 28, the project brings together several Thai chefs led by Chumpol Chaengprai with celebrity guests s Virithipa Pakdeeprasong and Siraphun Wattanajinda. 
Taking part in the event are the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), King Power, Master Mind Consultant, the Thai Restaurant Association, Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), Dusit Thani College, the Marketing Organisation for Farmers, and the Rice Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Chumpol and actress Siraphun Wattanajinda cook up a storm of “Amazing Thai Consomme Beef Soup” while Virithipa demonstrates the art of making “Look Chup Chao Wang”. All three will be on hand to talk about the secrets of Thai cuisine in the fourth floor Departure Hall between Gates 3 and 4. Joining them are chefs from the eateries in the airport, who will demonstrate in an open kitchen a range of special dishes. 
Over in the concourse building, guests can taken part in cooking workshops and learn how to make look chup, thong muan, and Thai curries then take home their creations. Packaged Thai food and ingredients are also available for purchase.
And then there are the games. Have a go on the interactive Thai language machine and if you pronounce the name of the Thai dish correctly, you win a prize. Or try the Cooking machine where, by choosing the ingredients to make Thai food, you can win discount coupons to be used at the eateries inside Suvarnabhumi Airport. King Power is also offering 10 prizes of two return tickets between Bangkok and Hong Kong.
