Monk and Miles when Idris is in town

Jazz singer-songwriter-trumpeter Idris Dawud from Harlem in New York City leads his quartet Milestones through lively sets at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Living Room every Wednesday and Thursday evening this month and at Sunday Jazzy Brunches.

Dawud comes from a talented musical family. His father played with Art Blakey and Thelonious Monk in the Jazz Messengers.
Stylewise, Dawud blends the cool of Nat King Cole and Chet Baker with the energy of the ’50s Blue Note era.
An engaging performer who’s delighted audiences from Switzerland to Singapore and Beijing to Dubai, he’s regarded as one of the finest musicians on the Bangkok jazz scene.
A Milestones gig mixes his soulful vocals and amazing trumpeting with original compositions, guaranteeing an unforgettable session.
The Living Room has hosted some of the biggest names in jazz, including Grammy Award winners. Sophistication is the name of the game. Tasteful decor, a sweeping bar, comfortable armchairs and sofas, subdued lighting, and fine wines, whiskies, cocktails and cognacs complement an enticing menu of delicious light bites.
The Living Room hits all the right notes.
Guests pay an “entertainment fee” of Bt300 from 8.30pm to midnight, but if they spend Bt1,000 of more, the fee is waived.
