A different form of white supremacy

A leading English-language daily newspaper in that city-state had advertised for a correspondent/columnist. The person selected was an ex-New York Times reporter (for 16 years), the same paper’s East Africa correspondent, the author of four books, a frequent contributor to Forbes, Newsweek and Foreign Affairs, and a New York resident for 40 years. 
He was, however, offered a lower salary than that posted in the advertisement – on the grounds that he was of Indian origin.
