Those handcuffs would be a perfect fit for Yingluck and Thaksin

South Korea’s former president Park Geun-hye was escorted into court in handcuffs on Tuesday to hear corruption charges. If convicted she could be sent to prison for life.

Clad in a black jacket with prisoner No 503 on her back, she appeared before a panel of three judges. Her head slightly bowed, her face sombre, she was asked by a judge what her occupation was. “I don’t have any occupation,” she replied.
Considering the crimes that former prime ministers Thaksin Shinawatra and Yingluck allegedly committed, I would love to see both dressed in prisoner’s garb, handcuffed, legs shackled, dragged to court by their earlobes, convicted and jailed for life – the whole shebang taking place without military involvement.
Can anyone give me sane reasons – without being ridiculous, please – why we can’t deal with Thaksin and Yingluck the way South Korea is dealing with Park?
