LIFESTYLE CONCEPT store Another Story looks to Belgium for the summer with its new collection of easy-to-match apparel and accessories for the girl around town.
Antwerp-based Essentiel has long adhered to a philosophy of ‘mix, don’t match’ and is recognised as the undisputed queen of contrasting prints. Its slogan “that’s bananas” is emblazoned on sweatshirts and its graphic dimension is showcased through a seamless blend of leopard and paisley. polka dots with clean lines and sparkling sequins.
Prominent in this summer collection are jacquard pants with cherry blossoms and the geisha-prints that – thanks in part to their high pyjama-style quality – radiate a casual, yet refined energy. In addition to the striking combination of patterns, the energetic colour palette also attracts the eye. Tender tones of powder pink, sky blue and soft turquoise are given a nudge in the back by solid khaki colours and mustard-yellow nuances.
The brand also pushes fabric choice to the limits, with luxuriantly coloured Japanese silk, bright pink tulle and exuberant embroidery adding a stunning dimension.
And the designers who brought Alice and Bashful to Essentiel’s clothes now turn their attention to Kermit the Frog, adding his image on everything from t-shirts to bags and wallets.
Those bags along with more classic designs with striking stitching and floral totes are now available at Another Story on the fourth floor of Helix Quartier, The EmQuartier.
