The project’s aim is to raise awareness about the paucity of educational audiobooks, especially O-NET-related audiobooks in Thailand, and encourage members of the public to record educational audiobooks for the visually impaired.
The project was launched recently at Siam Square One with a mini concert by Kornkan Sutthikoses. Participants were invited to record their voices for audiobooks at the available recording booths.
According to research conducted by students of Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, most audiobooks have entertainment-related content and educational audiobooks are all too rare.
The project aims to encourage volunteers to participate in recording senior-high-school-level O-NET tests audiobooks in three subjects; Thai, social studies, and science. Volunteers can register to be part of the project via its Facebook page, and request the file to record at home. They are required to send the audio file back to the project once it is finished.
Registration continues until tomorrow (May 11) night. For details, e-mail voproject.edu@gmail.com.
