Settte shots a sizzling 63 to lead Thai PGA Tour 2nd leg

The inform Settee Prakrongvech hit his personal best of a 63 for the second time to grab a two stroke lead heading into the final round of the BT1 million Singha-SAT Bangkok Championship at the Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club.

The 22-year-old from Chonburi shot nine birdies without a single bogey for a three day total of 15 under-par-201 at the par 72 7,064 landscape, the second stop of the Thai PGA Tour this year after the opener in Prachinburi last month.

Settee who also fired a 63 during the first round in Prachinburi before signing off at lone fifth had his sight firmly fixed on winning his maiden title this week.

“I hit the ball quite OK but my putts were really awesome. I made a lot of long birdie putts today. For the final round I need to focus on myself. If I play like this, I stand a shot at winning,” said Settee who was chased after by overnight leader Sorachut Hansapipan, also from the same province, by two shots.

“I did not shoot good scores today as I missed several shot putts. But I’m still in contention and I hope to get into my momentum in the final round,” said the 26-year-old, after a third round 69 and a total 13 under-par-203. Pijit Petkasem was at third following a 68 and a total 204.
