I can assure Mr JC Wilcox that the United Kingdom’s land border will indeed remain open, since self-governing Northern Ireland has a democratic mandate to seek a special status with the EU. Ulster men and women can be a pretty determined people. Many in the North and in the rest of the UK will retain or obtain an EU passport of the Republic of Ireland.
Scotland, it seems, is on the march to sovereignty within the EU – separate from England. And maybe Wales will follow.
