How low have our morals gone?

Much has been said about the so-called “culture of death” now prevailing in the Philippines under President Duterte’s ongoing “war” on criminality, mostly targeting the illegal drug trade. Duterte has been accused of wantonly violating the rights of suspects and received a lot of flak from the international community.

The death toll in his “war” has rocketed to more than 3,000, with most of the victims reportedly killed by vigilantes or death squads.
The vigilante killings of suspected drug traffickers are generally too brutal. The victims’ faces are often covered in packaging tape before bullets are pumped into their heads and bodies. The sheer impunity with which these crimes are carried out makes us question just how low moral standards have fallen among the populace. Our rule of law and even God’s commandment not to kill are being totally disregarded.
Stop the killings now. Stop the madness.
