Weightlifting Heroes Visit The Nation

Gold medalists Sukanya Srisurat and Sopita Tanasan, two-time silver medalist Pimsiri Sirikaew and bronze medalist Sinphet Kruaithong along with their Olympic teammates visited the Nation headquarters with Thailand’s Amateur Weightlifting Association Honourary president Intarat Yodbangteoy spearheading the squad.

The weightlifting team is conducting a two day press visit trip, a tradition they perform after returning from each Olympic Games.

Each athlete will return to their hometowns on Saturday and will assemble again on Friday for the city parade and join the party at the Government House where they will receive incentive money from Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Intarat said the team will resume their training in early September for the next year’s SEA Games. The TAWA honuorary president also said he already started a plan which includes a target of a gold medal for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
