Pattamon “Jan” Techanarong, creative director of Commit a Sin, uses her collection “YDNA: Young Diana” to pay tribute to the timeless style icon Diana Vreeland.
From tank top and high-waisted shorts to linen shirts, the YDNA girl is dressed for summer in greyish blue, yellow and pink. There’s printed skirts for the girl about town along with ’70’s flared trousers that flatter the hips and luxuriously textured playsuits that are simple in design yet stylish with detailed cutting. Pleating is another signature technique that brings out the feminine side of Commit a Sin’s woman.
Kwankao by Kwankao Svetwimol presents “American Beauty”, a collection inspired by her backpacking jaunt around the globe a few years back.
“Global trends make us look the same, but we are all beautiful because we are different. This collection is a mirror of our diverse societies and an inspiration for women determined to be sincere, free, positive and authentic,” she says.
The collection, which also draws on the deep crimson rose for which it is named, features rose patterns and heart shapes on everyday essentials and accessories. Tailored tops and pieces in flannel, camel, and denim lend a masculine weight that is offset by intensely feminine colours and sheer fabrics.
Kingkan Salakonthanavat, founder and designer of Kingkan, focuses on the mysterious allure of dangerous poison ivy in its disguise as a lovely innocent flower. The “Poison Ivy” collection features the symbolical meaning of the plant in a dark, romantic style through mesmerising shapes of flowers with close fitting cutwork as well as poison ivy prints. Dark tones like moss green and black are livened up with lavender to add allure and a sensual mood to the collection. The styles are perfect for everyday life and work wear and can also do double duty as chic and enticing gowns for sophisticated social gatherings.
“Modern Bohemian” is the concept of Misty Mynx’s new collections. A new lifestyle brand for modern, sassy woman from Jaspal group, the new collection is divided into three different unique styles – Resort Wear, Casual Wear, and the Movement, the latter specially made for the fashion-conscious athlete.
For the recent fashion showcase, Sky Studio was transformed into the magnificent Mediterranean with bright flowers and seashells on every table as the brand wove a story about a 1970’s road trip by a free-spirited woman. Casual Wear focuses on printed mini dresses, high-waisted flared jeans and blue floral print spaghetti strap camisoles that pair well with stylish white trousers. The Misty Mynx’s sport girls meanwhile remain sexy even when working out in chic sports bras with cut out detail on the straps paired with skinny sport pants in the same colour and decorated with bright floral prints for a practical and active look.
Pitchana Ekachai, daughter of Snitpim Ekachai of Pimplus Public Relation, made her debut with a collection that’s light, |sensual and unforgettable. “The Premier Kiss” evokes the experience of watching a movie teaser – a short, concise introduction to the designer, whom many remember from various social events and believe they know.
Pitchana puts together the everyday essentials for the working women, focusing on outfits suited to business meetings, appointments with clients, lunch and dinner as well as social events and parties and injecting very piece with femininity and sensuality through details and cutting techniques. The crop top is the staple separate of the collection, coming in white sleeveless lace patchwork, as a black sporty halter or as a sensual sleeveless piece with fringes made from Japanese silk. A beige long-sleeve crop jumper is worn with matching tailored trousers for a chic, everyday look. Signature dresses are meant for both day and night and come in materials such as French lace and mesh.
