As more and more Thais head off to snowy destinations in winter if not for the skiing but for the apres-ski, luxury Italian brand Emilio Pucci is making sure they look the part both on and off the slopes by bringing its latest collection of elegant yet functional skiwear to the City of Angels.
Pucci fans were given a bird’s eye view of collections both past and present at the recent “Emilio Pucci Ski Capsule Exclusively at Gaysorn”. Among those spotted in the crowd were Korakot Srivikorn, Jirath Vattanapataraset, Vipada Donavanik, Yumi Kiangsiri, ML Chanika Patpongpanich, Phattarapol Phungbunphra, Monlacha Skulthai, Krittaya Laohapongchana, Khunnicha Pornprapa Phungbunphra, Praowpan Laohapongchana, Wannaporn Poshyanonda, Chanadda Chirathivat, Sikanya Sakdidej Bhanubhan, Akarat Vanarat, Sutassanee Sosothikul, Manoonsini Footrakul, ML Boonyanuch Kashemsanta and Onchuma-Durongdej.
The winter 2014 collection is a fitting homage to the sportswear roots of the brand, which got its start on the slopes of Zermatt. Puffer jackets come in bright berry-coloured taffeta or lightweight printed nylon trimmed in silver fox; Nordic knits are embellished with beads and crystals while apres-ski wear includes chunky moon boots in long-haired kidassia fur as well as tall, laced-up moccasins in buttery suede.
Opulence reigns throughout: jackets are lined in rabbit, mink jackets feature inlaid ikat patterns and a car coat is patch worked in mixed furs and overprinted in a leopard motif. Even the toques are studded with crystals and topped off with fur pom-poms.
On the other hand, the hardware is drawn purely from the world of active wear, with rubberised buttons and wide black scuba zippers. Distinguishing itself from the other printed items in the collection, the Capsule has its own dedicated print sourced from the Pucci archives: Ferro, in lemon yellow, blue and raspberry.
