Absolut Parc returns to Siam Paragon with music, art and cheery tipples

Absolut Parc is back! After a pause last year due to the flooding, Bangkok’s favourite vodka experience is back in the same spot at Siam Paragon tomorrow till the end of the month with music, entertainment, art and lots of cold drinks.
For three years in a row, Absolut vodka has catered a different and creative “Absolut experience” to its patrons who want to break from the winter beer gardens that usually pop up all over town during the year-end.
Intimate and stylish, the Bt50-million set-up promises a unique and fun experience like no other, with a 20-metre wide LED screen and three different zones offering different vibes.
The Fashion Zone shows off collaborative works between Absolut and many leading clothing designers, while the Beat Zone is booming with live performances by aspiring and established local artists. Among a hundred acts in the line-up are Two Popetorn, Yokee Playboy, Four Mod, Neko Jump, Girly Berry, Stamp, Slot Machine, Joey Boy, Burin and the Old School All Stars, Boy Peacemaker, ETC and many more.
The most fun and sensorial stimulation is probably the Arts Zone, where three of Thailand’s top artists collaborate and transform the space into am interesting and fun hang-out.
Thaweesak Srithongdee, better known as Lolay, one of Thailand’s most internationally recognised artists, put his creative mind into all the furniture in the zone. At the Absolut Unique Gallery last month he was also among the seven who interpreted and represented the brand in their own conceptions. His subject of choice was alien.
“Humans are searching for something unique – ideas, goods, touches – which is no different than an alien from outside the world,” Lolay says. Versatile and dripping with innovation, Lolay is a respected multi-instrumentalist whose works span painting, illustration, video and sculpture. This time around, with furniture design, he is sure to impress the crowd and deliver something “out of this world”.
Visual artist Pongstorn “Shy” Limanon teams up with graffiti artist P7 to create a three-by-six-metre masterpiece monster on the Absolut Art Wall. He’s a perceptive entrepreneur and devoted supporter of the visual-arts scene.
And of course, you’ll get to enjoy lots of Asbolut vodka, in themes and flavours that change every day of the week. You can get a tower of vodka and a mixer, or enjoy a bottle with your gang. This year Pernod Ricard, the vodka’s distributor, is introducing the new super-premium vodka Absolut Elyx.
Produced from hand-selected estate wheat and mingled with soft, naturally filtered water, Elyx has been developed over 10 years. The winter wheat and a 1929 “rectification still” were used with a copper catalyst process to ensure an exclusive flavour and aroma. The water used is never exposed to any kind of pollution since it’s filtered through boulder ridge and limestone bedrock.
Elyx is bottled in an elite cubic version of the iconic Absolut bottle, and the vodka is handcrafted in single batches, supervised by senior craftsmen at every stage of the process.
