This year Eve succeeded in bringing in top Thai fashion brands 27 Friday, Disaya, Flamingo, Ggub, Hook’s Issue, Manchu’s Monlada, Vatit Itthi and Zenithorial. All of the labels came up with clothes to match the campaign’s “Pink Passion” concept. And Maynard Nantakwan, the designer and owner at Soda, created scarves to raise more money.
The result: Bt1 million donated to the Thai Red Cross Society for research.
Eve isn’t just clever at fund-raising, though. She really does know all about breast cancer. Ask her anything.
So who had the great idea of making her the campaign’s ambassador? Elca’s managing director. That’s Eve’s mum Ampornpim!
Boy stays busy
You might think that starring in the new Channel 3 soap opera “Sam Num Nua Thong” would keep Pakorn “Boy” Chatborirak too busy for the rounds of social and marketing events, but to the delight of the showbiz media, he’s always on hand.
In fact, a lot of these appearances were postponed because of the flood crisis, and Boy is just honouring his contracts. That’s quite a bonus for the event hosts because his TV show has just begun and he’s got that spotlight now too.
“Have you raised your appearance fee because of your rising popularity?” one nosy reporter asked. Boy said his fee has gone up now, but not for the appearances planned earlier.
“I think it’s just like in any other job,” he said. “My fee goes up in accordance with my experience.” But there’s no “bidding” going on. If he’s offered two events slated for the same time, he sticks to the first one offered.
First come, first served, and the amount of money on the table isn’t an issue. Take note: This is a worm for the early birds, so if you want Boy for breakfast, don’t dither.
