Turkey with all the trimmings

At Greyhound Cafe, you can enjoy a traditional Christmas meal or opt for something a little different like turkey meatballs with spaghetti

Want a relaxed Yuletide meal but not necessarily over the Christmas weekend? Then look no further than Greyhound Cafe, which is offering a selection of special menus created by its popular chef Torsith Saritwong.

In business for 14 years, the restaurant has earned itself a faithful following among local gourmets thanks to its wide range of western, Thai and fusion dishes and delectable desserts. This year for the festive season under the slogan “time to celebrate”, it’s offering eight special menus that proved popular with customers a few years back.

“Due to the flooding situation and the fact that people are still trying to get back on their feet, we decided not to create new menus for this year’s festive season, but instead to bring back some favourites,” explains managing director Pronsiri Rojmetha.

These favourites include traditional roast Christmas turkey imported from the US and served with stuffing, smooth mashed potato, home-made gravy and buttered peas in cranberry sauce for Bt340. There’s also spaghetti with chunky turkey meatballs served in tomato sauce topped with parmesan cheese for Bt240.

“Every year, we present many turkey menus from the US. Our fried turkey meatballs stewed in tomato sauce have always proved popular and traditionalists always love the tender roasted turkey,” says Chef Torsith says.

Other recommended dishes are New Zealand lamb cutlets hot pot for Bt340 cooked with spicy North Eastern-style sauce, crispy crepe with shrimps and scallops in tasty tomato sauce served with asparagus and lobster bisque sauce for (Bt200).

For something different, you can try Macao favourite Minchi- sauteed minced pork with onions and special sauce served on a bed of mashed potato bed and topped with diced fried potato, fried egg and tomato gratin for (Bt200).

To end the meal, choose between soft and smooth layered young coconut crepe cake (Bt140) or Panna cotta in berries sauce (Bt130), both of which go well with a fresh berry tango smoothie topped with a strawberry sherbet ice cream for Bt130.
