Former public health minister Mongkol dies at 79

Former minister of public health, Dr Mongkol na Songkhla, died on Friday. He was 79.

He was undergoing treatment for cancer for a long time.

Mongkol was a minister in the government of prime minister Surayut Chulanont from 2006 to 2008. He had also served as secretary-general of the Food and Drug Administration, and was also permanent secretary at the Ministry of Public Health.

His funeral will be held at Wat Pariwat Ratchasongkhram in Bangkok’s Rama III area.
