Deputy Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Pol General Piya Tawichai stated categorically that police were not involved in removing the "People's Plaque" installed on Sunday morning but missing a day later. He added that Bangkok officials, as administrators of the area, might have removed it since it was something that did not exist in the past.
Reacting to uproar over his intention to charge the protest leaders, Piya said that there was evidence, with clear pictures and audio, to charge them. He, however, did not say when they were likely to be charged.
