A reporter said the water has turned black, is bubbling and stinks.
The temple’s abbot said the level of Sakae Krang River had dropped and was not feeding the bank with fresh water.
The temple has been providing sanctuary to thousands of fish, especially Pangasius, which is sensitive to the quality of water and will certainly die if the problem is not addressed immediately, the abbot said.
The temple has contacted related agencies to test the water’s quality. The dead fish, meanwhile, will be collected to use as fertiliser.
