Three days ago, the bears had injured five people in the area, and more than 100 locals and officials from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation arranged a stakeout in Si Chomphu district.
They also put seven cages on Thursday in areas where the bears could possibly be hiding and left jackfruit and honey to lure the animals.
However, as of early Friday morning, the bears had not visited any of the cages nor helped themselves to any of the treats left for them. Two drones used to comb the area also did not report any sightings.
Anan Pinnoi, from the Conservation Management Office 8, said drones will be set off again to hunt for the bears, adding that if the animals are not spotted, then it means they have made their way to Dong Lan forest in Phuphaman National Park.
