Nakhon Ratchasima event has people fishing to raise funds

The event was held to raise funds for improving the swamp as well as to help a nearby village. The swamp had previously been dredged by the Royal Irrigation Department, while locals had released fish to repopulate the swamp.
The fishing tournament was boisterous, with participants casting out to catch Siamese giant carp, common silver barbs and the Mekong giant catfish.
The person with the biggest catch was promised Bt1,500, while many fish traders were ready to buy up the fish at Bt30 per kilogram.
