CSD deputy commander Pol Colonel Anek Taosupap said evidence collected by investigators showed there were two plans designed to spring Banyin loose from jail.
The first one was Banyin’s accomplice would attack the vehicle transporting him on the expressway enroute to Phra Khanong Civil Court in an attempt to free him. If this failed, the prison chief would be kidnapped as a hostage in exchange for Banyin’s freedom.
Anek said the investigators, however, did not find solid evidence about Banyin's reported plans to escape using a helicopter or lobbing bombs into the prison.
Nattapon Norakarn, 30, who was previously arrested for being involved in the escape plot, had alleged connections with the son of a politician, who was a Banyin associate, summoned to give a testimony to the police.
