The North and the Northeast plains will have a minimum temperature of 16-22 degrees Celsius while on mountaintops the temperature will be around 6-12 degrees Celsius.
A strong northeast monsoon will prevail across the Gulf of Thailand. The lower south will still have heavy to very heavy rains in some areas.
People in the southeastern coast should beware of heavy rainfall. In the upper Gulf of Thailand from Chumphon upwards, waves about 2 metres high are forecast, in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani downwards waves about 2-3 metres high and thundershowers are forecast.
Beware of the inshore surge along the southeast coast. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats should keep ashore, the department cautioned.
Another strong high-pressure system covers southern China. It is forecast to cover the upper Northeast of Thailand by Monday (December 2).
Cool to cold winds are forecast for the North and Northeast with temperatures dropping by 5-10 degrees Celsius.
The Central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the Eastern region will be cool and windy while the temperature will decrease by 4-6 degrees Celsius.
The strong northeast monsoon across the Gulf will bring about strong winds and waves in the Gulf.
