Anurak Saenviang, Piya Pookchit and Supol Muensriprom led more than 10,300 people from various groups based in 17 provinces in the East and Northeast.
Anurak said the farmers faced severe difficulty cultivating their land and those in the Northeast, where water was scarce year-round, needed solar-powered pumps.
“We want the ministry to also consider urgently establishing community power plants to assure the farmers of a more stable living,” he said.
Deputy Minister Suraporn Danaitangtrakul, general secretary Anurut Nakasai and minister’s adviser Yukol Chanawatpanya heard the appeals and accepted the petition on the minister’s behalf.
